At 3.30pm today, Folkestone Rescue was requested by Folkestone NCI to assist a fishing vessel with engine failure. The boat in question was stranded a small distance away from Folkestone’s Sunny Sands beach, off Copt Point.

Our Avon boat known as Rescue 1, helmed by Mark Clover and assisted by Matthew Weatherly, responded at 3.35. Upon making contact with the stranded vessel, Rescue 1 initiated a tow and slowly returned both boats to the safety of the Folkestone Harbour Arm, where it was moored up until Folkestone Harbour had refilled with water.

The operation was completed by roughly 4.30 and both Folkestone NCI and Dover Coastguard updated regarding the safe recovery of the Vessel.
