Folkestone Rescue has supported a wide range of community, sporting and coastal events across Folkestone and the surrounding area. From small local gatherings to large public events, our volunteer team provides reliable lifeguard cover, first aid support and safety boat services, working alongside organisers to help events run safely and smoothly.
Many organisers return to us year after year, trusting our experience, planning and local knowledge of the coastline.

Folkestone Armed Forces & Air Display
Folkestone Rescue supported the Folkestone Town Council in the Folkestone Armed Forces & Air Display by providing a rescue boat and volunteer crew for the air display, alongside lifeguard patrols at Sunny Sands Beach throughout the day. Our team worked in dynamic conditions, helping to manage risks associated with large crowds, coastal activity and air display operations along the seafront.
In addition to operational cover, volunteers were present on the Leas Cliff engaging with the public, answering questions and sharing local coastal safety advice. This visible presence helped provide reassurance to spectators while strengthening links between the community, event organisers and emergency partners during one of Folkestone’s busiest annual events.

Folkestone Trawler, Paddleboard & Raft Race
Folkestone Rescue supported the Folkestone Trawler, Paddleboard & Raft Race Weekend by providing water safety and first aid cover across a busy programme of coastal races and activities. Our volunteer team operated both on the water and along the shoreline, helping to manage the risks associated with multiple vessel types, changing sea conditions and high participant numbers.
Working closely with event organisers, we helped ensure clear communication, effective safety cover and a visible emergency response capability throughout the weekend. This support allowed competitors and spectators alike to enjoy the event safely while celebrating Folkestone’s strong maritime and seafaring traditions.

The Most Wuthering Heights Day
Folkestone Rescue supported the Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever event at the Harbour Arm, an energetic annual gathering where participants come together in red attire to recreate the iconic Kate Bush dance and celebrate community spirit. Our team provided a safety presence across the harbour promenade and adjacent shoreline, offering first aid assistance and engaging with attendees throughout the day as the event attracted hundreds of dancers and spectators.
Working alongside the event organisers and the broader Harbour Arm community, our volunteers helped ensure a safe and welcoming environment on one of Folkestone’s most colourful and widely anticipated free public celebrations, underscoring our commitment to supporting local cultural events as well as coastal safety.
