Today, Folkestone was visited by the triple masted barque ‘Artemis’, on its way to Boulogne as part of ‘Le Sailing Voyage’. Our rescue boat and crew were on hand to provide assistance in case the ship was unable to moor up at the newly-refurbished harbour arm. After several attempts, the ship was safely and successfully moored.
‘Le Sailing Voyage’ is an exciting development programme for selected young people from Shepway and Boulogne Sur Mer secondary schools.
Le Sailing Voyage culminates in an exciting 7 day sailing voyage across the English Channel arriving in Boulogne in time for the Festival of the Sea celebrations.
