The Met Office have issued an Amber warning for Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th December 2020.

Storm Bella is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the Southern region over the weekend. Some disruption to travel is likely across parts of England and Wales.

The Met Office is warning of spray and/or large waves affecting some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities, and flooding which may close some roads.

Due to the risk to safety, we recommend that people avoid the beach and coastal areas this weekend.

The Met Office also warn to expect damage to buildings and business closures due to flooding, delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport, delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges, and possible short term loss of power and other services in the South East region.

Advice on how to stay safe in a storm can be found on the Met Office website.
