Fallen child injured in Folkestone harbour

At 2.15pm this afternoon, our lifeguards were approached by a 12 year old child, who alerted them that his friend had fallen while walking across Folkestone harbour at low tide.

Our team accompanied the child to the outer harbour, where the casualty – a 12 year old female – was lying in a ditch and unable to move due to a painful injury to her leg.

As it was assessed as a potentially serious injury, an ambulance was requested, arriving within five minutes. Crew assisted paramedics extracting the casualty from the harbour, and she was taken to hospital for further treatment accompanied by her father.
