Late this afternoon, Folkestone Coastguard were called to a report of a swimmer in difficulty near Folkestone Harbour Arm.
On arrival, the swimmer was located and a Coastguard Search & Rescue helicopter was used to winch them to safety. The swimmer was then taken to hospital as a precaution.
Folkestone Rescue were not involved in this incident, which occurred outside of our operating hours.
