Incident: Rescue in Folkestone Harbour, 19th April 2015

Today at approximately 12.30pm, Folkestone Rescue responded to a member of the public who reported a drowning man in the inner harbour. Both boats responded immediately with 4 crew.

On assessing the situation a swimmer was put in the water to support the casualty whilst preparation was made to bring the casualty into the rescue boat. The casualty was taken to the harbour slipway, where they were met by Kent Police, Folkestone Coastguard and paramedics.

We hope that the casualty will make a full recovery.
